Graduations have become an avenue for showing off

This is not a commentary on this particular couple, but on graduations in general:

Nagkadugay, graduation ceremonies have become avenues for showing off and outdoing everyone with their bouquets and garlands.

Nothing wrong with giving them as a gift; afterall it’s a celebration of the success of the graduates and their support system.

However there is a fine line between giving a gift and also doing it for the clout. It takes away the attention that should be given equally to all the celebrants. Suddenly it’s no longer looking back at their journey and celebrating. Now it’s all about only one or a few people who got the most ostentatious gifts on stage. Some things are better done in the privacy of your own homes.
