If I'd have superpowers

Justice League. The Avengers. X-Men. Fantastic Four. The Incredibles.

Whatever superhero team you recognize, it sure is amazing to think that these fictional characters have superhuman abilities. Imagine if you have the strength of ten men, the ability to morph into whatever the heck you want to transform into, to become invisible or the ability to create fire... wouldn't that be AWESOME?! But we all know this is just fiction, so our wild imaginations are constantly slapped with the harsh truth. However for the sake of imagination, what if it IS possible to have these abilities, and you'd have the awesome chance to choose what your powers will be? What power would you choose or which character would you like to be?

If you'd ask me, I'd definitely, hands-down, with no second thoughts, choose Jean Grey's powers. xD
Jean Grey is a character from Marvel's X-men. Let me just share a few photos of her versions, for familiarization :)

the famous 80's version
(the first is the 50's version)
my personal favorite: Jean from X-Men: Evolution
Famke Jansen as Jean Grey in Bryan Singer's X-Men film
the recent one still from Bryan Singer-
Sophie Turner as the young Jean ♥
Jean Grey's power is telekinesis. It is the ability to control things with your mind. Have you ever seen the movie Carrie? Yep, that's telekinesis.

In the most simple sense telekinesis is moving things using your mind: to throw objects, move things, hide something without you touching it or getting near it. Amazing, right? No one would know if you were the one who purposely spilled the hot coffee on the school bully xD

To give you a deeper sense of telekinesis, scientifically it is controlling matter using your brain waves. It is a psychic power. Jean Grey's telekinesis is so awesome she appears to be flying because she is able to lift herself up. With it she can also create barriers (shield). The most awesome part of her telekinesis however is that in time she was able to have telekinetic sensitivity. It's when she can feel matter (in a molecular level) in her immediate environment. Because of that she can manipulate matter even to subatomic level! How wicked is that? When I first obsessed about Jean Grey's power, I've always thought if she can manipulate matter to subatomic level, she can therefore affect literally EVERYTHING in the environment- the weather, the atmosphere, etc! She can control water and earth (move over, Avatar!) With that level of power, she is limitless. That's what I love about it.

Another awesome thing why I choose to have Jean Grey's power is that she also has telepathic abilities like Professor X. Telepathy is the ability to communicate through people's mind (imagine a mind chat) no matter how far they are. [Fun fact: Jean Grey is one of the few telepaths who can communicate with animals.] It is also the ability to read people's minds, affect their minds (like creating illusions, stunning them, taking away their memory or giving it back to them). It's just so awesome and scary at the same time. Imagine if someone has an access to your mind? You can't even let other people see your browse history, let alone your mind xD

And if you think that's all there is to Jean's telepathic powers, here's more: it also lets her see things at a distance(remote viewing). It's like being omnipresent through the mind. So for telepaths, the next time you lose your phone you can "browse" through the places using your mind, in order to find out where it is \m/ However for Jean Grey, this remote viewing is limited to places she is familiar with.

As awesome as these powers are, its dynamism totally depends on the skill of the person: how they can use and control their powers. When you are sick, your power is weak; when you are bothered, you won't be able to use your powers; when you have mood swings, your power may surge.  Yes, I talk as if I have 'em xD

Telekinesis and Telepathy. The power to control things through your mind and the power to read and affect minds.

What's your choice of superpower?

Album Review # 1

Music is love. Music is life.

For music junkies out there we really have his need to check out new songs for us to enjoy singing along with, to ease us out of boredom, or simply to drown away the voice of our nagging co-workers ;P

And to give you an idea of what you should check out, I'd like to officially include album reviews as one of my blog topics. It will not be a deep-as-the-ocean thorough review, but just from the perspective of a music junkie checking out fresh finds.

So what album did I choose...? tadaah... it's...

MAROON 5's "HANDS ALL OVER- ASIAN TOUR EDITION" album!!!

I know, this is not a newly- released album. But since like, I was in high school, Maroon 5 had been my favorite band because they offer a wide genre of music- from neo-soul to pop rock to funk rock to dance- rock to blue-eyed soul. And did I mention Adam is hot? ♥

Okay so back to the album, it is my favorite album of theirs, so far. Most of my top favorite songs in this album are renditions of classic songs. Let me tell you why these are my most fave of this album ♥

5. Misery- this is an original song, and with the usual pop rock vibe. A typical wow factor courtesy of Maroon 5.
4. The Way You Look Tonight- a rendition of one of my favorite jazz classic by Tony Bennett. Michael Bublé and Adam Levine both gave their own unique interpretation to this song and gave it justice. A remarkable rendition indeed.
3. Crazy Little Thing Called Love- ah, another rendition from the song by Elvis Presley. This funk rock music makes you wanna shake and grind your hips the Elvis way. Truly a 1950's piece of pizza (because cake is cliche).
2. The Air that I Breathe- if I'm not mistaken, this falls under the blue-eyed soul genre. I just love this song. Listen to this song and see (hear) for yourself how beautiful it is. Aaah ♥~

thank you, Spotify ♥

and, presenting... my number one favorite song from this album:

1. If I Ain't Got You- you read that right! They did a rendition of Alicia Key's classic hit song! This legendary (char) song is widely sang it has gotten so cliche, and I thought no one can beat the original. But when I heard Maroon 5's rendition, darn! It's so beautiful. I really really REALLY loved it. I still love the original, but I'm also delighted to hear a beautiful rendition of this song. It's just wow. Please check it out xD

So there ends my short album review/ rant on the "Hands All Over" album by Maroon  5. Buy/ download it. NOW. ;)
